The End of Impressions.
Invisalign iTero3D Scanner
A complete digital map of your smile in minutes, no goop required.
We don't guess. We scan.
The foundation of a perfect treatment plan is accurate data. That is why we have replaced uncomfortable, messy putty impressions with the iTero Element 5D scanner. This advanced intraoral camera captures 6,000 images per second to create a flawless 3D digital model of your teeth and gums.
"A Better Patient Experience"
Zero Discomfort
No gagging, no goop, and no bad taste. The scanning wand is compact and non-invasive, making it perfect for patients with sensitive gag reflexes.
Instant Data
Your digital impression is captured in minutes and sent immediately to the Invisalign lab. This eliminates shipping times and gets your aligners fabricated faster.
Precision Fit
Putty impressions can distort or break. Digital scans are exact to the micron, ensuring your aligners and retainers fit perfectly the first time.
Radiation Free
The iTero scanner uses optical laser technology to capture images. It is completely free of radiation, making it safe for children, teens, and adults.
7x
Precision Matters.
Data shows that aligners fabricated from iTero digital scans have 7x fewer fit issues than those made from traditional putty impressions. A better fit means more predictable tooth movement and fewer emergency visits to fix tracking errors.

Clear Answers.
If you have had traditional impressions before, you probably have some concerns. Here is how the iTero experience is different.
No. The scanner is simply a camera wand that hovers over your teeth. It does not scrape, poke, or apply pressure. Most patients find it completely comfortable.
A full arch scan (top and bottom teeth) typically takes 3 to 5 minutes to complete. The 3D model appears on the screen in real-time as we scan.
While it is critical for Invisalign, we also use the iTero scanner for fabricating retainers, mouthguards, and other orthodontic appliances to ensure a superior fit.
Yes. The scanner captures the surface of your teeth (the visible part). X-rays are still required to see the roots and bone structure below the gum line to ensure your teeth are healthy enough for movement.
